Cyclers - When Will They Ever Learn

There truly is the good, the bad and the ugly and in this case its cyclers who do not obey the rules of cycling for what ever reason. I am talking especially about those cyclers who have bad habits - no doubt like their driving habits - and are teaching these to their children. HELLOOOOOO

Dear Mr/Mz Cyclist - ya you - the one without the helmet, the one who things, its the other guys deal to wear one - you, the cyclist who rides on the sidewalk and almost runs an elderly person to the ground, you the cyclist who has your children on the back and just went through the stop sign.

ARE YOU financially prepared for the funeral you will have to attend because you didnt' see that car coming and you ran the stop light with your child behind you and because you were not wearing your helmet and you were thrown a few dozen feet, that your brains splattered.

ARE YOU prepared for the heart ache and greive of loosing a loved one  that you lost because YOU did not take the time to teach them the rules of safely riding their bike?

ARE YOU prepared to call an ambulance for the elderly you just knocked down because you were too laxy to get off the side walk and YOU should come first?

I have seen first hand all these travesties and I comment to cyclists all the time. Their funeral not mine, but how unnecesary.

Please wear your helmet, its the law for one thing, it will save your brains for another.

Please teach your children proper cycling habits so that when they are on their own they will ride out of harms way.

Please stay off the sidewalks, they are for foot traffic and if your scared of the road, get off your bike and walk it.

I can't wait till I retire so I can post the pictures of all the cyclist imbies who run their own rules. I want to publish them online, and let the chips fall where they may.

Sometimes its cruel to be kind, and in this case I am being cruel. BEcause its kind of me to do so.

As I type this another cyclist has just flown by .... sigh .... I hope he/she never brings pain to their family because of their poor judgement in not wearing a helmet ...
